The Heart of Community Sports in the Village

Welcome to the Byron Optimist Sports Complex, a cornerstone of sports and community spirit in London, Ontario. Nestled in the vibrant Byron neighborhood, this complex stands as a testament to our commitment to healthy, active living and youth development.

For almost 40 years, thousands of youth and adults have enjoyed playing and watching sports at the Byron Optimist Sports Complex. Each season almost 2000 boys and girls will be playing in the Byron Optimist soccer and ball programs at the Complex. Thanks to the ongoing financial support of the Byron Optimist Club, our children and many adults have the opportunity to play at one of the finest facilities in Ontario.

Our facility is located at 618-678 Boler Road at Optimist Park Drive, and is fully operated and maintained by the Byron Optimist Sports Complex Inc, a registered charity run by a volunteer committee from Byron. In 1975 Bill Willcock approached the Club to see if they were interested if he donated the land. The Sports Complex today occupies 22-acres of land, donated by Bill Willcock in 1979.

Our Sports Complex has equipment storage buildings, a children's playground, concession booth, and parking for participants and spectators. The facility offers 3 baseball diamonds and 3 soccer fields and all but one field are floodlit for night use.

We are proud that our complex is home to some of the finest playing fields and safest playgrounds in the city.

The Beginning: Our story began in 1979, born from the vision of the Byron Optimist Club to create a space where children and adults alike could engage in sports and community activities. Over the years, this complex has grown, mirroring the growth of our community's passion for sports.
